The word “hectic” cannot even begin to describe the week I have experienced leading up to this evening. I wouldn’t go so far as calling it an ordeal. However, I am just glad I always read over my material before committing to anything.

I almost didn’t make it to the ship on time for my first contract. I read my arrival in port date as my flight date. The end result would mean I would have been a day late to my dream job that requires me to travel half way across the country. You want to talk about the definition of embarrassing. It’s behind me now. I am spending my last night in Florida for a while in a hotel just about a half mile from the airport.

I am excited but I think I am experiencing “tunnel vision” and I honestly have no idea what to expect. Right now my only concern is making a great impression and do a good job while probably second-guessing every little thing I do. But this idea of diving into the unknown, is exhilarating. I have honestly not been outside of the country or experienced other cultures. While my first mission is my job, second is safety, third is fun, and fourth is education. I want to learn what I can about the world because travel experiences to me offer a lot more than a classroom can. But the best way to learn is to have fun while experiencing new cultures.
